I just ran across this awesome story that PG&E did to help someone needing a little extra assistance with their energy bill. She met their income requirements by simply providing one paycheck stub, they came out and give her new light bulbs, insulated her light sockets, changed out her faucets, weather stripped her doors and got her a new refrigerator for free since hers was older than 1999, and they took 20% off the top of her bill all for the great price of free.
